Life Insurance

While life insurance has an array of products, it is imperative that you start by the basics of term insurance, as you sell more, you will find out the different needs of insurance. If you are an experienced agent, you will also find a wealth of experience in the life team. Estate Lawyers, Senior Law Lawyers, Accountants should be part of your referral base. Either new in the market, or experienced, you will need a fact finder or needs assessment document for your meetings with the client. Whatever the needs are, you will find a solution among many options available.

Life Insurance
An important part of a sound financial plan, life insurance from the selected carrier provides a valuable death benefit to your client’s beneficiaries.  The two types of life insurance are term and permanent.  The one that’s right for your client, depends on many factors, including budget, the amount of coverage needed, and the length of time your client would like the coverage to last.

Term Life Insurance
Term insurance provides protection for a limited period of time, such as 10, 15, 20, or 30 years, and pays a benefit if the insured dies during this period.  Although term policies typically do not accumulate cash value, many do offer a feature that allows you to convert to a permanent policy within a certain time.  This can be beneficial if you’d like to buy a permanent policy but your budget right now does not allow it, or you like having the option to convert to a permanent policy later on.

Whole/Universal Life
Whole life insurance and universal life insurance are two types of permanent life insurance.  Universal life insurance can provide lifetime coverage for significantly less premium than whole life insurance but whole life Insurance will typically accumulate more cash value in the policy.

Mortgage Protection
The most important part of any mortgage protection plan is the Mortgage Life Insurance component.  Unlike Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI), your Mortgage Life Insurance policy will provide your client’s survivors with a tax-free benefit to pay off your mortgage.  Their policy may also cover other expenses if needed.

Critical Illness Protection – Rider

With Mortgage Insurance your client may also cover themselves to receive immediate funds should they suffer a critical illness.  This Mortgage Insurance coverage is available for all members of their family, including children.

Terminal Illness Plan – Rider
Mortgage Insurance will also cover your client and their family if they become terminally ill.  With Mortgage Insurance they can access your policy’s cash value to meet expenses when they need it.  While you’re still alive!

Return of Premium – Rider
is a newly introduced term life insurance policy that provides both death benefit protection and a return of premium insurance feature.  One of the most unique features of this policy is the return of premium rider that refunds every penny of premium.  When your client lives to the end of the policy term – just like getting your policy for free if you never needed it! This money comes directly to your client back tax-free.
